About UNECD
The National Union of Dental Surgery Students (UNECD) is the representative association of dental surgery students in France. It nationally brings together independent representative associations of the 20 Dental Surgery Training and Research Units.
Three meetings, organized every year, bring together student representatives to discuss studies more generally, leading to enriching debates.
These gatherings are also a moment of training (on the theme of associations, national representation, professional life, social issues, etc.) for all association leaders, elected officials on the various councils, tutoring or for any student wishing to attend.
The UNECD thus has real weight in the various discussions at several levels :
- ministerial : study reform, external status, qualifying internship, etc
- academic cost of studies, organization of teaching, etc
- professional medical demography, installation of new graduates, etc
We also have a main project which is called “Keep smiling”, which enrols our wish to apply the prevention in our exercises. The aim is to realise prevention and oral health for the students during a few days. Thus, our volunteers sensitise more than 6000 students every year for good dental practices and health recommendation.
